Description
Ibtrozi, also known as Taletrectinib, is prescribed for treating non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in adult patients with the disease's chest-spreading or metastatic variant driven by an abnormal ROS1 gene. The medication is an oral capsule that should be taken once daily on an empty stomach, with no food consumption for at least 2 hours before and after ingestion. Your oncologist will determine the appropriateness of Ibtrozi therapy based on the results of genetic testing for ROS1 rearrangements. Ibtrozi functions as a kinase inhibitor by targeting specific proteins, ROS1 and TRK, responsible for promoting cancer proliferation. Overactive proteins resulting from genetic alterations, such as fusions or mutations, transmit signals that spur the uncontrolled growth of cancer cells. By inhibiting these proteins, Ibtrozi's mechanism effectively curbs tumor progression.
