Please fill in the details below, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible
Description
Bavencio 200 mg Injection contains Avelumab, an immunotherapy medicine used in the treatment of certain advanced cancers. It is a monoclonal antibody that enhances the body's immune response to identify and attack cancer cells. Bavencio is administered intravenously under the supervision of an oncologist in a medical facility.
Benefits
-
Enhances the immune system’s ability to target cancer cells
-
Improves treatment outcomes in patients with advanced cancers
-
Provides a survival benefit in metastatic disease
-
Safe for long-term maintenance therapy in responsive patients
-
Effective when used alone or in combination with targeted therapy (e.g., axitinib)
Indications and Usage
Bavencio 200 mg Injection is prescribed for:
-
Metastatic Merkel Cell Carcinoma (MCC)
-
Locally advanced or metastatic Urothelial Carcinoma (UC) after disease progression
-
Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) in combination with axitinib
-
Certain other cancers as recommended by an oncologist
Usage must be guided and monitored by a cancer specialist.
How it Works
Avelumab is a PD-L1 inhibitor (Programmed Death-Ligand 1 inhibitor).
-
Cancer cells express PD-L1 to evade immune detection.
-
Bavencio blocks this PD-L1 signal, enabling T-cells (immune cells) to recognize and destroy cancer cells.
-
This restores and strengthens the immune system’s natural anti-tumor activity.
Dosage & Administration
-
Administered as an intravenous infusion
-
Standard dose: 800 mg every 2 weeks (depending on regimen)
-
Each infusion is given over approximately 60 minutes
-
Premedication may be given to reduce infusion-related reactions
-
Treatment continues until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity
Important: Bavencio should only be administered in a hospital or oncology center by trained healthcare professionals.
