Zydrox 500 mg Capsule is an oral chemotherapy medicine containing Hydroxyurea, used to treat certain cancers and blood disorders. Manufactured by Zuvius Lifesciences, Zydrox belongs to a class of drugs called antimetabolites, which work by slowing or stopping the growth of abnormal cells in the body. Zydrox 500 mg is commonly prescribed for leukemia, sickle cell disease, and other conditions involving abnormal blood cell production. It is available in capsule form for convenient daily use under medical supervision.

Indications and Usage
Zydrox 500 mg Capsule is used in the treatment of:

How it Works

Dosage & Administration
Use only as prescribed by your doctor.
General dosage guidelines:
- Cancer (Solid Tumors / Head & Neck):
- 20–30 mg/kg daily OR
- 80 mg/kg every 3 days
- Chronic Myeloid Leukemia:
- 20–30 mg/kg once daily
- Sickle Cell Disease:
- Starting dose: 15 mg/kg/day
- Gradual increase based on response
- Maximum: 35 mg/kg/day
Take the capsule with water, with or without food, at the same time each day.
Side Effects
Like all chemotherapy medicines, Hydroxyurea may cause side effects.
Common side effects:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Constipation or diarrhea
- Weakness and fatigue
Serious side effects:
- Bone marrow suppression
- Low white blood cells (infection risk)
- Low platelets (bleeding risk)
- Mouth ulcers
- Skin darkening or rash
Regular blood tests (CBC) are required during treatment.
