Decitabine

Decitabine is a well-established anticancer molecule used primarily in the treatment of hematologic malignancies. It belongs to a class of agents known as hypomethylating agents, which work by modifying abnormal gene expression patterns associated with cancer development and progression.

At the molecular level, Decitabine is a nucleoside analog of cytidine. Once incorporated into DNA during cell replication, it inhibits DNA methyltransferase enzymes, leading to reduced DNA methylation.
