Description

Obnyx Capsule is prescribed for the treatment of prostate cancer. It may also be used for other conditions as directed by your doctor. The medicine works by blocking the action of male hormones such as testosterone, which helps slow the growth of cancer cells. Take Obnyx Capsule with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Your doctor will determine the correct dose and duration based on your condition. Do not stop the medication without medical advice, even if you do not notice immediate benefits, as it may take several weeks or months to show results. Common side effects include headache, hot flashes, weakness, and high blood pressure. Other possible side effects may include yellowing of the skin, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, dark-colored urine, and skin rashes. Regular blood tests are needed to monitor liver function and blood counts during tre

Benefits

  • Slows Cancer Progression: Obnyx helps delay the growth and spread of prostate cancer by blocking the action of male hormones (androgens) like testosterone that fuel cancer cell growth.

  • Improves Survival: In advanced or metastatic prostate cancer, it has been shown to extend overall survival when used as part of hormone therapy.

  • Non-Chemotherapy Option: Obnyx offers a targeted treatment approach without the toxic effects associated with traditional chemotherapy.

  • Oral Convenience: Taken by mouth, it provides a convenient alternative to injectable cancer therapies.

  • Better Symptom Control: May reduce cancer-related symptoms such as bone pain, fatigue, and urinary issues when used as prescribed.

Indications and Usage

Obnyx Capsule is indicated for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) in adult males. It may also be used in combination with other therapies for certain stages of prostate cancer, as determined by the treating physician. By inhibiting androgen receptor signaling, it helps control the progression of hormone-driven prostate tumors.

How it Works

Obnyx Capsule contains enzalutamide, an androgen receptor inhibitor. Prostate cancer cells depend on male hormones (androgens), especially testosterone, to grow and survive.

Obnyx works by:

  • Blocking androgen receptors on cancer cells, preventing testosterone from attaching and activating them.

  • Inhibiting cancer cell growth and survival by cutting off the hormone signals that fuel their activity.

This targeted action slows the progression of prostate cancer and may reduce symptoms in advanced cases.

Dosage & Administration

  • Usual Adult Dose: One 40 mg capsule taken once daily, or as prescribed by your doctor. Some treatment regimens may involve higher total daily doses (e.g., 160 mg/day), taken as multiple capsules.

  • Route: Oral (by mouth).

  • With or Without Food: Can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels.

  • Swallow Whole: Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule. Swallow it whole with water.

  • Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember the same day. If it’s the next day, skip the missed dose — do not take a double dose.

Important: Always follow your doctor’s exact instructions. Dose adjustments may be required based on your health condition or side effects. Regular monitoring (e.g., liver function tests, blood pressure checks) is often recommended during treatment.

Side Effects

Like all medications, Obnyx Capsule may cause side effects. Some are common and manageable, while others may require medical attention.

Common Side Effects:

  • Headache

  • Hot flashes

Monitoring:
Regular blood tests are recommended to monitor liver function, blood pressure, and other vital parameters during treatment.
